请means "please",but we only use it before other words,and verbs often behind it, for example: sit down, please. please sit down. in english, the sentences are both right. but in chinese, you'd better use 请坐, and 坐请 is wrong. if you want to ask sb. to do sth. you can use 请 first, just as 请问(excuse me), 请帮我(please help me),请告诉我(please tell me), and so on. i hope this can help you.
