"Quit holding out." What does it mean? When do you say it?

When you keep something to yourself and not share it with others or when you don't participate. A friend has a recipe for delicious chicken pot pies but won't share. I can say, "Quit holding out and let me have it!" :)

Give up something that you insisit it all the time. You can use it when you are desperate and do not want to do anything.
