When we omit "that" in sentences? For example: The things that do matter are the thing that we remember. WHICH THAT CAN I OMIT ABOVE?

The things that do matter are the things (that) we remember. You can omit the 2nd "that" because the two "that"(s) are only talking about 1 subject which is "the things that do matter". "The things that do matter are the things we remember."
