as + adj.+as possible ， this phrase is translated into Chinese as "尽可能的+adj."
For instance, as ‘fast’ as possible = 尽可能的‘快（速度）’ 。
as ‘soon’ as possible = 尽可能的’快（时间上）‘
Therefore, as close as possible = 尽可能的近
Be careful，“as + adj.+as possible” is quite different from "the more... the better" ,all depends on contexts.
