Hi! There isn't an option on italki to select the language, unfortunately, but I am a native speaker of Cape Verdean kriolu and a teacher. I would be happy to help if you have any questions.

Amulets are believed to protect a person from the evil eyes of others, Wearing such amulets is an African tradition that is deeply rooted in the Cape Verdean culture. Hi,Jura, Kriolu, here, is a mix between African dialects and Portuguese. This kind of kriolu is spoken in Cape Green, for example. There are many beautiful Cesaria Evora's songs in kriolu, you can listen to and enjoy in youtube. My late father in law and his family used to speak kriolu and Portuguese, so learned a little bit of kriolu myself. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Cesaria+Evora
