Is there any difference between "en cuanto" and "tan pronto como"?
For example, we can use both "en cuanto" and "tan pronto como" in the sentence of:
"Llamé a mi hermana _____________ supe la noticia."
But can we also use both of them in the following sentence?
¨Los gallos cantan _____________ sale el sol.¨
And another question is - can we put ¨tan pronto como¨ at the beginning of the sentence?

Son intercambiables.
Pero "tan pronto como" es un poco largo y yo personalmente lo usaría en textos o para evitar repetir otras frases. También usamos "apenas" con la misma equivalencia:
- "Llamé a mi hermana apenas supe la noticia"
- "Los gallos cantan apenas sale el sol"
Sí, es posible decirlo al comienzo de la oración:
- "Apenas sale el sol los gallos cantan"
- "En cuanto supe la noticia llamé a mi hermana"
- "Tan pronto termine con esto te llamaré"

Yes, you can put "tan pronto como" at the beginning of the sentence:
example: Tan pronto como acabe mi trabajo, te lo enviaré.

yeah I guess they are synonyms, and you can put it at the beginning of a sentence but be careful which sentence do you choose because that will change the meaning of your sentence
-- Tan pronto como llamé a mi hermana supe la noticia.
(meaning you called your sister first and they you knew the news)
- Tan pronto supe la noticia llamé a mi hermana.
(first you were awared of the new and then you called your sister)

"en cuanto", "tan pronto como"
serían prácticamente lo mismo. Algo como "as soon as"
"Llamé a mi hermana "en cuanto"/ "tan pronto como" supe la noticia."
¨Los gallos cantan "en cuanto"/"tan pronto como" sale el sol.¨
