How to express that?
If someone starts a fight with an official person like a policeman.
I have found the expression 'open defiance of lawful authority' but only on Hungarian websites so I don't know how reliable my sources have been so far.

What's the context? Your example seems unnatural English.We talk about "resisting arrest" but that is a response not an initial act.
