단 meaning and usage
단 한번만 제발
넌 영원한 나의 친구 단 하나뿐인 내 친구
니가 돌아오면 잘해주겠단 생각뿐
멋지단 말론 부족한 걸
What does 단 mean, what does it do, and what is its purpose in these sentences? They are all lyrics from different 소녀시대 songs. I cannot find the answer to this anywhere. Also, if you could go further and give more examples and explanations on how 단 is used and when it is used, because it seems like it can be used by itself and as a particle.

멋지다 = 멋있다 = You're cool / 멋지단 말 = 멋있다는 말 = the words you're cool / 멋지단 말론 부족한 걸 = 멋있다는 말로는 부족하다 = the words you're cool is lacking

한번=once / 단 or ~만 = only or just / 단 한번만 제발 = just only once PLZ

the 단 in the last line is needed before 말 again as kind of a quote. Just treated this as something you have to remember. verb + 단 말

I did not even notice all the other 단. but they have different meanings.
단 used alone can mean 단지 (only) . There are many words in korean that look the same but they serve different grammatical functions and also different meanings.
