Should I use character or letter?
Hi there,
I want to make sure what is the best word to use in a sentence like this:
"You can type 160 characters" or "You can type 160 letters"
Seems to me that letters is more appropriate? or either one?

the first sentence is right. you should type 160 characters.

It is better to say "you can type 160 characters" because "characters" will include any symbols on the keyboard like % or # or @, for example. Saying "letters" only includes the alphabet and not the symbols.
