differences between "think" and "believe"
Hi, my question is what is the difference between the words "think" and "believe"? I don't know when to use those words.

Think- form thoughts, to use the mind to consider ideas and make judgments.
Ex.Think carefully before you start writing.
Believe- accept something as true or to accept that something is true or real
Ex. I don't know which story to believe.

Think es pensar, believe es creer. Ahora, al igual que en español, muchas veces se usan de manera indistinta:
Creo que está bien = pienso que está bien
I believe it is ok = I think it is ok
Claramente, no puedes hacerlo cuando quieres referirte al significado puro de un u otro verbo:
Pienso en ti (no puede ser reemplazado por "creer" sin cambiar el sentido)
I think of you
Creo en Dios (lo mismo, no puede cambiarse por "pensar" sin cambiar el sentido)
I believe in God.

While these two words are quite similar, there is actually a great deal of difference in their usages and meanings.
THINK -
1) to have a conscious mind, to some extent of reasoning, remembering experiences, making rational decisions, (in other words using the brain to "think about things') 2) to employ one's mind rationally and/or objectively in evaluating a situation 3) to have a specific thing as the subject of one's thoughts 4) to call or recall something to your mind 5) to consider something as a possible action or choice
BELIEVE -
1) to have confidence in truth, existence, or reliability of something, without the guarantee that you are right 2) to have confidence or faith in the truth or in the assertions of a person or people. 3) to have a conviction in an action or a situation 4) to suppose or assume or understand
I hope this helps. This are the technical definitions, but they explain a lot about how these two words are defined.
