How do you say love to someone in Japanese?

Some people tell me, "I love you" in Japanese is "あいしてる".
But when I watch Japanese drama, when someone (Aさん) express his/her love to the other (B さん）, I hear something like: "Bさん、Bさんのことがすきです。”
As far as I know, the verb "love" in Japanese is: "愛する”, so do you have this sentences in Japanese: " Bさんを愛します。”?
"Bさん、Bさんのことがすきです。”　and　" Bさんを愛します。”、どうちがいますか？

It is more common to use  "daisuki" more than "aishiteru." But both are okay.
