What does that mean "You are TOO funny"? Or "it was too funny"? Is it bad? Literal translation to Russian implies negative context. Is it so in English?

"You are too..." is generally negative, but in the case of "funny" it's positive.

"You are TOO funny." This is positive and negative. It could be sarcasm, because the emphasis on "too". But I'd need to hear it. Maybe if you had some audio I could listen to? "It was too funny" is positive context.
