I don't know how to say 生意気 in English.

I gave some advises to my Japanese friend(5 years older than me) so I am 生意気... so I wanted to say"I am sorry for being ( ajective/生意気な) or my (noun/生意気)"
Could you help me out?

I would probably say "cheeky" or "cocky", depending on the context. If I wanted to be formal and serious, I would say "impudent" whereas if I wanted to be informal and slightly rude I would say "smart-arse". (Bear in mind that I'm from the UK, and American English speakers tend to say "-ass" instead).
