What's the difference between recall and remember? ... and recollect :)

They are similar but I would use recall when I am talking about a particular event, and usually in a negative way - I can't recall, I don't recall.

They all mean the same thing, but in modern usage you would usually use "remember". "Recall" also has other meanings - http://www.thefreedictionary.com/recall

Remember = to keep something in mind Recall = remember--> cause one to remember or think of Recollect = remember something
