What's the difference? e.g. I decided to quit my job. I've decided to quit my job. What's the difference?

I've = I have decided. Makes the time reference different. Sounds like the person has been deliberating on this for awhile and only has decided just now. There is no time reference in the other sentence, except that it is in the past.
