무섭다, 겁이 나다, 하고 두렵다
여러분 안녕하세요. I have a question. I would like to know the difference in these three words. Are they
completely interchangeable? 무섭다, 겁이 나다, 하고 두렵다. Most of the time I just use 무섭다 to describe fears.

겁이 나다 or 겁나다 means "be seized with fear, get scared[frightened]"
무섭다 and 두렵다 both mean "scary, frightening, terrifying, fearful"
무섭다 is focused on the fear of an substantial object or specific situation and implies surprise.
두렵다 is focused on the state of mind caused by the fear and implies anxiety.
저는 뱀이 무서워요.(O)
저는 뱀이 두려워요.(X)
무서운 영화를 봤어요.(O)
두려운 영화를 봤어요.(X)
나는 꼭 무슨 일인가가 일어날 것만 같아 그 사람을 만나는 것이 두렵다.
앞으로는 무슨 일이 벌어질까 두렵다.
골목길이 너무 어두워서 집에 혼자 가기가 두렵다.
