"Would" is used for many thing. Here are some examples: wishes, hopes I would like to be a doctor when I get older. I would hope that he finds his a girlfriend. possibility (it might happen or not) If my friend drives his car, I would go to the movie. (If he doesn't, I would not go.) I hope that helps a little. :)
