You mean 'to swallow quickly' The boy was so hungry he gulped down his food in seconds. or ... he gulped his food down in seconds, or........ he gobbled his food down in seconds. Gobbled is rarely used these days (hoy en día)

I take it you meant to write 'gobble'! The main difference to me is that gobbling involves chewing a bit, whereas gulping is more swallowing. So gulping would be more common with liquids, and smaller items. Gobbling would therefore be uncommon with liquids
