Which language is more difficult? Cantonese or Mandarin?
I want to hear your opinions which language is more difficult to speak? Chinese Cantonese or Chinese Mandarin? I can only speak the cantonese language and a few sentences of mandarin. When I compare the both languages I think cantonese is more difficult.

Yeah, there are 9 tones for sure......
don't rely on Wiki at all...
Cantonese is a lot more harder than Mandarin in my opinion ;)
I took 2 years to conquer in Mandarin; Cantonese?
Even My mum is a native speaker of Cantonese, a HongKonger, and she teaches me to speak and to use the phrases...I'm still confused, and i speak with lots of ''lazy sounds''...
You needa be very careful with your pronunciation; people might easily get confused for what you've said.

Objectively, I don't think Cantonese sounds better than Mandarin, & it should be the other way around.

Yea as a university course, Cantonese taught in year 3! Im learning it next year, they have the stardard number of tones but doubled up since if you hold the tones for long it makes new tones. I went in one class and the teacher was like... ma ma ma ma ma ma..... Was quite scary haha. Im learning Cantonese this year and looking forward to it though, it sounds cool at least.
