I'm searching for an English expression or a word. It's an expression for a place where dogs (or even cats) are bred "illegally" and sold below cost, without papers. Usually kept in very bad conditions without veterinary care.

I'm translating a puppy sales contract and do not know the word as I could not find it in any dictionary.

In British English we call it 'a puppy farm'. Bob

Puppy mills. There might be more than one option, but a "puppy mill" is a place the breeds lots of dogs in poor conditions. Sometimes they're legal but not respected.
