I didn't know you could do that I was talking to someone in Spanish and he told me that you would take college language courses as a high school student. I wanted to say to him, "I didn't know you could do that" but I wasn't sure how to phrase it. I ended up saying "No sabía que fue posible hacer eso" because "No sabía que puedes hacer eso" just didn't sound right. What is the correct translation for "I didn't know you could do that"?

I think the right phrase would be "No sabìa que se podia hacer eso", or "No sabia que lo podias hacer" or "no sabia que se puede hacer" The point is that these are just ways into traslate a phrase, sometimes you need to invert words expecially from english to spanish or italian languages. The phrases in these 2 languages are structured in a different way.

Perhaps the Spanish section would be a better place for that question. :-)
