Burned vs burnt Knowing there's several verbs take both a regular and an irregular form (dream, spill, spoil, learn...), I was wondering if there is an actual difference between the two? Are there cases in which one should be used instead of the other? Thanks!

They are generally interchangeable except when used as adjectives. You can say 'I've burned the toast' or 'I've burnt the toast' but you can only say 'I like eating burnt toast'. You can't use the regular form as an adjective.
