How to ask something indirectly without using "could you?" " would you?" Please teach me some expression how to ask someone to do something indirectly. I have already learned the usages of could you & would you, but I would like to learn other phrases that are used in real life situations. For example, I did not know the phrasing like "I sure would appreciate from now on if you would leave me a note." I think this question is about how to make requests tactfully. Thank you in advance for your help!

"I wonder if you could just leave a note." "It would be helpful if you could leave a note." are two indirect ways of asking someone to do something.

I'm not sure what the word "sure" here is adding to the sentence. You also have to be careful not to confuse being tactful with "not being clear". This is especially important in British English where tact is an important issue but clarity can be lost. Try these Please leave me a note. Perhaps you might leave me a note I'd love you to leave me a note
