What is the difference between 新しい　and 新たな ? Is that 新しい is an い-adj and 新たな a な-adj ?
In which case we use 新しい and 新たな ?

In which case we use 今夜　and 今晩 ? The same for 昼　and 昼間.

For me, there's no difference between 新しい and 新たな. If there's difference, 新たな sounds a bit formal.

今夜→night ( for me, 19:00-3:00)
今晩→evening ( for me, 17:00 after sun set -21:00)

昼→Lunch time, around 11:00-13:00
昼間→day time, from sun rise to sun set
