If you are interested in music which tells a story, you might consider soundtracks from musical theater. Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rodgers and Hammerstein, George Gershwin. Find one with a story that interests you and go from there?

I remember about the first incredible song I heard, three years ago, when I started learning the english language. Its name is "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong. Another one that has fascinated me is called "Imagine" by John Lennon. :)

For learning English, I think some songs from the U.S. 1960s folk revival are good, because the words are relatively easy to understand and they make sense.
