A few questions...
I have three questions:
1. What does this sentence mean?: "They go to the mercer every night."
2. Does "ranting" mean the same as "complaining"?
3. Is this sentence correct?: "I saw a stray cat in our neighbourhood and I decided to take it in."
Thanks in advance :)

1. It's literal. "Mercer" is not a contemporary profession - we only use this word when discussing history.
2. Yes. Complaining emotionally and perhaps irrationally.
3. Yes.
