Well, as a native Korean, I do not find the different meaning from those two expressions as they are used for 'after', though, I think the first one ~고 나서부터 can be used to describe some specific reason or time why you have done, chosen or changed.
Meanwhile, the 이래 of ~한 이래로 indicates "from the past until now" you mention to explain the current situation.
You can use both expressions to describe your activities and behavior after you made decisions.
