La palabra "lejos" es un adverbio.
"Lejos" puede usarse sin un sustantivo en una frase.
Ejemplo:
"No te vayas lejos"
La palabra "lejano" es un adjetivo. "Lejano" significa "algo que está lejos"
Podemos decir dos frases con el mismo siginificado:
"Es un pueblo que está lejos"
"Es un pueblo lejano"
