The second intonation, whose tune tends to be uptrend, is much commonly used in the sphere of native speakers. 2.“xīn dì dìfāng”-“xīn de dì fāng”(新“的”地方). “的” is a polyphonic character, and its basic pronunciation is “dē”（when it is used to link adjective and noun, its intonation can be softened）. Meanwhile it indeed has a pronunciation of “di”, but it’s generally “dí”, like “dí què”（的确-indeed, really）（haha, I’m sorry to make you a little disappointed） Then as for “Feng Shui”, there are explanations from different dictionaries, such as a one like this: “Definition of Feng Shui for English Language Learners: a Chinese system for positioning a building and objects within a building in a way that is thought to agree with spiritual forces and to bring health and happiness” Sounds like it is a mysterious, interesting but also quiet important matter, actually it is! From my part, I think the most important element is HARMONY (well, it’s just my opinion and I am never a professional one, haha), as Cuber said before, Feng Shui is originally consisted of Yin and Yang—The character “Yin(阴)” is always linked with moon, black, shade or female, objects whose property can be classified as soft, dark, vague or secret; and “Yang(阳)” is the opposite part, which is referred to sun, bright, male, or other objects, even geographic orientation.

As I searched from the net, Feng Shui is mainly used in architectural philosophy, this “discipline” has a long history from the Warring States Time(of the ancient China~~~). Certain professionals would find a better way for building a harmonious building, either for alive or the gone, after carefully detecting the geographical terrain, orientation and the light, water, wind, anything that might affect the living conditions. Of course, it will sometimes seems to be a little superstitious even for ourselves, but it indeed works!
