싶다 in sentences
Generally, it is used to show a little more speaker's own suppositions, judgements etc., right?
In what cases verb before 싶다 has to be in a negative form?
I know that in ~ㄹ까 싶다 it has to be this way. I read that also in ㄴ가/나 싶다 it it the case, but I don't think it is true. I've seen a lot of sentences in which the clause before ㄴ가/나 싶다 was not negative. + I read that ㄴ가/나 싶다 is the same as ~ㄹ까 싶다 (what would actually explain why it has to be negative).

what's the meaning of: ~ㄹ 성싶다, ~지 싶다 (do they have equivalents with other verbs?)

Quoted from Korean grammar for International learners
The verb 싶다 can follow a wide variety of endings, including -나, -(으)ㄹ까, -(으)ㄹ성, -구나, -지, etc. In each case it expresses the speaker's guess or supposition, or else the speaker's judgement about some fact.
음식이 맛이 있나 싶어 먹어 보았습니다 = I ate the food thinking it might taste good.
오늘은 친구한테서 전화가 오지 않을까 싶다 = I have a feeling my friend might call today.
그 사람이 화를 낼 성싶어서 그 말을 하지 않았어요 = I thought he might get angry so I didn't say anything
그런 예쁜 여자도 있구나 싶었다 = I thought to myself 'Hey, there are girls as pretty as that, too?' (In other words, 'I had no idea there were girls as pretty as that!')
아마 그 친구는 학교에 갔지 싶어요 = She must certainly have gone to school (I reckon).
There is no distinction of negative or positive form.
But, ~ㄹ까 싶다 is more commonly used for worried situation than other forms.
싶다 in these forms can be replace by '라고/하고 생각하다'
음식이 맛이 있나 싶어 먹어 보았습니다 = 음식이 맛이 있나라고 생각하며 먹어 보았습니다
오늘은 친구한테서 전화가 오지 않을까 싶다 = 오늘은 친구한테서 전화가 오지 않을까하고 생각한다
성 in the 성싶다 is a noun which means "supposition" and it can be replaced by '듯'
성싶다 = 듯싶다
그의 표정을 보니 내가 실수한 듯싶었다.
이 책은 나에게 매우 유익한 책인 듯싶다.
밖에 비가 오는 성싶다.
동호가 자리를 뜨는 게 좋을 성싶어 일어섰다.
지 in the 지 싶다 is an ending suffix for self question.
그날이 일요일이지 싶다. = 그날이 일요일인 성싶다 = 그날이 일요일이라고 생각한다.
