before& after + verb past tense? I am trying to say 'some one did something (activity A) before he/she did something(acivity B). By this means, the timeline of event A happened before event B. In this context, Can I use before/after + verb past tense? For instance, I wahsed my hand before I went to bed? Thx

Yes, "I washed my hands before I went to bed" is correct. You may also say, "I went to bed after I washed my hands."

At least based off your example. Yes you can say that.

Maybe it's not good to say that , you should say example (( i had watched tv before my telephone rang )) So you should use the tense to clarify which action happened first . So it seems to be good now

Not really. We only normally use past perfect to set the timeline for something else that happened after that. For the simple case, you don't need that complication.
