It drives me insane. What does it mean comparing with "... makes... "? There are two phrases: "It makes me insane" and "It drives me insane". What's the difference between them in meaning?

There is no difference in the meaning at all.

I would add that 'it / he / she drives crazy' is a more common way to say this expression.

They mean the same thing. It makes me insane. It drives me crazy. These are more common in the USA, with the second being most common.
