وصل reach/arrive وَصَلْتُ إلى البيت مبكراً I arrived to home early. وَصَلَتْ المياه إلى هذه المنطقة حديثاً The water reached this area recently. وَصَلتُ إلى أقصى حدودي. I reached my limits. حصل obtained/ gained/ got حصل الطالب على درجة كاملة في الاختبار. The student got a full mark in the test. حصل الموظف على ترقية. The employee got a promotion. I don't know how to explain the difference between these two verbs but they have a different meaning and from the examples you might get a better idea about their meaning and when to use them. I'm willing that other answers will make it more clear.

حصل على = etwas bekommen وصل إلى = etwas erreichen الحصول على / الوصول إلى sind Substantive.
