I suggest that you read books.I prefer reading books over TV shows because you can imbibe in your target language and learn yourself whereas if you watch TV shows.Most often you will be focused on the story and you will forget the need to learn language which doesn't mean that you should avoid TV shows.I suggest once you are proficient enough to be able to speak you should watch TV shows.As for now read books,for non fiction read books by Malcom Gladwell and for fiction read stories and fables that will help you learn.All the best on your personal endeavor.
