Hey Carolina, how are you? I shall provide you with an explanation about the difference between ''to'' and ''for'' in sentences. 1) Usage of ''for'': --> If something is 'for' someone, they are intended to have it or benefit from it. E.g.: ''He left a note for her on the table''. E.g.: ''She held out the flowers and said, 'They're for you.' E.g.: ''I will do anything I can for you''. --> You use 'for' in front of a noun phrase or -ing form when you state the purpose of an object, action, or activity. E.g.: ''The mug had been used for mixing flour and water''. --> You use 'for' in front of a noun phrase when you are saying why someone does something. E.g.: ''We stopped for lunch by the roadside''. E.g.: ''I went to the store for a newspaper''. 2) Usage of ''to'': --> You use ''to'' when you are saying why someone does something. E.g.: ''People would stroll down the path to admire the garden''. E.g.: ''He had to hurry in order to reach the next place on his schedule''. --> When it comes to ''destination'', ''distance'' and ''giving'', then you should use 'to'. E.g.: ''We’re going to Paris''. E.g.: ''I have been studying English for 2 years''. E.g.: ''I gave a new book to my sister''. *NOTICE: Don't say, for example, 'He went to the city for finding work'. You say 'He went to the city to find work' or 'He went to the city in order to find work'. Hope that helps!!! Should you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I shall be pleased to help.

Sometimes it helps for + noun and to + verb but not always. Also, to is like in order to or for the purpose of. I want to learn English for my job. I'm improving my English in order to (to) pass my exams. (Here "for" will not work). Give me some examples and I will tell you if they are right.
