Is it correct to say “staring reading” ( this is on - be + looking forward to + ing)
Hi friends,
My question is on “be + looking forward to + ing” pattern. Is it correct to say “staring reading” as given below. Does it sound weird and grammatically incorrect?
I am looking forward to starting reading my first English novel.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Ninwatha, Denise here Australian
I would say:
I am looking forward to start reading my first English novel or
I am looking forward to begin reading my first English novel

I am looking forward to starting reading my first English novel.
It's perfect Niwantha.
You could also say "I am looking forward to reading my first English novel". The meaning changes a little, though. In this case you are looking forward to simply reading the book. In your sentence (which is perfectly correct) you are looking forward to STARTING to read the book.

It sounds more natural, to me, to say “to starting to read.”
