Hi friends, What does "you meant to ask" mean? like what does someone mean by saying "he meant to ask her to be french?"

It means 'forgot to ask'. He had previously wanted to ask someone to do something but he forgot. It could be 'he meant to ask her if she was French or not'.
'Oh no! I meant to ask him if he can come to dinner tomorrow but I forgot!'
It could also mean that someone made a mistake or the listener didn't understand - what I MEANT to ask was 'are you French', but I said German by mistake! Teacher Zowee :)

Hi Kai Sanja here...yes it mean that person had an attention to ask, he/she planned to ask but forgot. It is like expression.
