When do you use ANY MORE as two words—and when do you use them in one word—ANYMORE? Please use them in sentences and I’ll tell you if you’re right! Tip: ANY MORE has to do with an amount of something. ANYMORE has to do with time— as in NO LONGER. Ilene

Alternatively, save yourself a whole load of worries and just forget about 'anymore'. You don't actually need it. I have never used the one-word version and never intend to. Is there any more coffee? Correct I don't drink coffee any more. Also correct. Simple tip: always write 'any more', and it'll always be correct. Why make life more complicated than it needs to be? PS One more tip: the same goes for 'a while' and the totally unnecessary 'awhile'. Forget about the one-word version.

They are completely different. Do you have any more questions? - a statment of quantity. Do you have any more puppies? You had some last month. - quantity . I can't do this anymore. - always time, = I can't do this any more times, or, I can't do this any longer. Do you have puppies anymore? You had some last month? - still this month, time

Irene, you are advertising in the wrong area, I think. In my answer, to what I assumed was your question, as that's where you posted, I wrote "I can't do this anymore. " - the sentence, then the less than natural explanation for a non-native speaker, to clarify- always time, = I can't do this any more times, or, I can't do this any longer. . Your pointer to what would be better was to exactly what I wrote. . If you comment again, you can get even more visibility form one pseudo-question. :) I didn't mix anything up. Thanks for helping. I always assumed the main ingredient to being a good teacher was to listen really well. Thanks for the offer. Zoom has been getting a lot of media attention here for its security issues. Enjoy. :)
