I was born in the Year of the Ox.
Most people understand this to be the Chinese Zodiac. In case you meet someone who doesn't understand, you can say:
It is the Chinese Zodiac.
If you want to explain further, you just say that the Sign of the Zodiac changes yearly, not monthly.

The phrase "zodiacal year" does not make sense.
