The meaning of orientation is "an introduction" or a "guide." If you start a new job, they make want to give you a quick briefing which they may call "(an) orientation."
However, "orientation" can also be related to ones "sexual orientation." Taken from the dictionary: a usually general or lasting direction of thought, inclination, or interest. SEE "SEXUAL ORIENTATION." ---> "–noun
one's natural preference in sexual partners; predilection for homosexuality, heterosexuality, or bisexuality."
As for examples:
Because of my sexual orientation, I do not feel comfortable talking to people about relationships and crushes.
My orientation (my introduction) for my new job is tomorrow morning. I wonder what I should wear?
Student orientation will be held next week, before classes start.
