Can I have two negatives in a sentence? Hi, can somebody confirm, if I can write in English : "Not that I have never been to the festival before, this is not at all the case. I became an employee...." when I would like to say that I have been many times to the festival so far.. Thank you for your help. Zdenka

Yes. I imagine you are aware that this sentence sounds chatty. It sounds like creative writing - perhaps a personal bio or short story, rather than a formal letter. It probably sounds this way because it is round about, rather than straight to the point. I would also add 'In fact I became an employee' or 'On the contrary, I became an employee...'. But this is all to do with personal preference and style. Linguistically I believe your sentence is fine.
