we use the present perfect simple with action verbs to emphasise the completion of an event in the recent past. We use the present perfect continuous to talk about ongoing events or activities which started at a time in the past and are still continuing up until now. The first sentence shows an event in a recent past and the second sentence shows an event that started in the past but still continues.

In this case: The first one means you have been awake for three days, maybe you haven't tried to sleep. I haven't been sleeping, suggests that you have tried to go to sleep each night but you found it difficult. People often say 'I haven't been sleeping well'.

Dear Saleh. Both have the same meaning, however, the continuous one focuses only on the duration and the time you spent on doing something, while by present perfect, you only think about the result of something. For example: I have done my homework = This means you can see my homework which is done now. I have been doing my homework = This means I have been busy for a certain time doing that.

What is the difference between perfect simple and perfect continuous? The present perfect simple usually focuses on the result of the activity in some way, and the present perfect continuous usually focuses on the activity itself in some way. I hope this helps. Thank you.
