Hi, guys. What's the difference between "go hiking" and "climb mountains"? In what situation we say "climb the mountains"?
(ps. In Chinese, we usually say "climb the mountains" when we hike.)
Pics taken by me when hiking last weekend.😉

I know in China you use 爬山, where we would probably say 'hiking in the mountains'. Climbing mountains suggests using proper equipment like ropes and hard hats, rather than just walking. Hiking can be on flat land like 散步还是徒步。
