Another great lesson with Sensei. He’s strict (linguistic perfectionist), but that is a good thing. Correct Pronunciation is key. He really knows the Henki book and knows where all the grammar points are by exact page number, which makes it more efficient during the lesson. For example, when I make a mistake, he’ll ask me if I remember reading a grammar point on a particular page, and then we’ll look it over together. He’s just a really good teacher and I could find something new each lesson for which to praise him. He also works on intonation and sentence syntax, which I find very refreshing and helpful!

In order to learn a language you need a good reason. Not just an "I would like to" or "it would be cool if", but a real good reason. Then you need a good teacher. Hiro knows how to create the building blocks you need to succeed. Sometimes you will not know why he spends so much time on a subject until down the road when you realize how important it is.　いつも一生懸命教えてくれてありがとうございます。

Another great lesson with Sensei Hiro-san! He was very efficient, as always, and we reviewed a lot of material. He made sure I was solid on my knowledge, pronunciation, and understanding before we proceeded in our Genki book. He was kind and encouraging, which inspired me to work harder in his great class. You will not find a better teacher on Italki!

I really enjoyed the trial with Hiro. He is very detailed and up front about what he is expecting from you, I like the discipline. Very clear on the agenda. I am looking forward to taking more lessons with him.

I am so blessed to have been introduced to this teacher by my friend, another student user in this site. Sensei is dedicated, always extremely prepared, his lessons always run seamlessly and smoothly. I like the fact that Sensei has extremely high standards and will review the lesson content with you for as long as it takes to get it right. He’s linguistically and pedagogically relentless (a good thing!). He demands and expects a lot from his students—also really good things. I’m making progress under his tutelage. He also asks poignant questions to get you to think about why your answer may be wrong or need adjustment.
