Hello everyone! My name is Sokneang and I’m from Cambodia. I’ve graduated from Western University of TESOL in Cambodia. To graduate with my degree, I had to do my practicum at my
university. Since 2019 I’ve been working as a primary school English teacher full-time at Sovannaphumi School Takhmao 2 Campus – a standard school. In 2015, I volunteered with VSO/ICS program at the Voluntary Service Oversea which required me to work in poor communities in Rathanakiri province alongside UK youths to provide soft skill trainings to youths for three months. I’m not only rich in teaching, but I’m also rich in culture diversity awareness as well.

I’ve been teaching English for six years at a private school and I just started to teach Khmer for
two years to students at home. I joined a short course to be a general Khmer knowledge teacher by the National Institute Education for three months. Through working at my workplace, I’ve had a lot of training to become a professional teacher. Recently, I occasionally exchange the Khmer
language with my foreign online friends who wish to become more knowledgeable in the language. As for my personality, I am helpful, easy-going, and open minded. Tell me what you wish to learn with my language, I’ll take you there.我的課程內容與教學風格
I have some online books for foreigners to learn Khmer as part of my resources. I also create
slideshow lessons with romanization and English translations, which are helpful and easy for
students to learn. Before each class, I will chat with my students to review the past lessons and to go over what is to be expected for the next lesson. During the class, I prefer my students to practice speaking Khmer, or make attempts in forming sentences while we converse, which I will then give my students feedback on pronunciation afterwards. I think this is the best way to grasp native speaking for language learners, so that they can have a practical experience while learning.我的教材

Sokneang is a very good teacher who explains Khmer well and is supportive and helpful. She pitches the class to my ability and she replied to messages to help me practice outside of the classroom. If you want to learn Khmer, I would recommend Sokneang :)

Great lesson with Sokneang! We did a conversation practice using the "time" vocabulary words that we learned during the last lesson. Sokneang quizzed me on the vocabulary to make sure I understood it. We also read through a sample dialog, then modified that dialog to adapt it to ourselves. We also reviewed the first set of written consonants, which Sokneang introduced to me last time. I had a good time in the lesson and Sokneang is really helping me learn!

Great lesson with Sokneang! We learned about the vocabulary for family. We also reviewed the material from the last lesson - pronouns, question words, etc. The lesson was a lot of conversation, which was a good challenge for me to ask and answer questions. Sokneang asked me if I am interested in learning reading/writing, which was very thoughtful. She has been doing a great job of preparing for each lesson, and helping me prepare!

I recently started learning Khmer with Sokneang. Her teaching is very good and I learned a lot already in only a few lessons. She gives me a preview of the lesson in Quizlet, and we review when the lesson starts. She includes audio on the flashcards, which is very helpful. I enjoy her class and look forward to continue learning with Sokneang!

Great lesson with Sokneang! We started with a quiz about family and then had some conversation about family. After that, we learned about time expressions and played a game about them. We also learned about consonants in Khmer. Sokneang always has a very good lesson plan with activities, which helps to enjoy learning!

Great lesson with Sokneang! We learned about the numbers from 1 to 100. Sokneang had a quiz ready to check how well I know the numbers. After that, we learned about counting things and put together some sentences using noun and number. Sokneang was well-prepared and the lesson was both fun and productive!
