Olá, Salve, Χαῖρε , Ciao, Hello! My name is Joel.
I am a native Brazilian with a love of classical languages. Fun Fact: 80% of English words are borrowed from Latin (with over 150,000 words from Greek)!
I graduated from the Federal University of Paraíba in 2020 with a degree in classical languages. In addition, I graduated from an intensive 8-month immersion course in Latin and Ancient Greek at the prestigious Academia Vivarium Novum in Rome.
From my bio you may have recognized that I currently speak 5 languages: Portuguese, Latin, Ancient Greek, Italian, and English, and would like to learn more. I also enjoy chess, strategic games, journaling, and meditation.我的教學經歷
In my 6 years of teaching, I have taught hundreds of lessons with students from different levels and backgrounds. I use many different materials in my lessons such as PDFs, texts. and videos.
For my Latin lessons I also like to utilize books such as 'Familia Romana', and for ancient Greek 'Athenaze' and 'Learning Greek'.
I like my lessons to be comfortable and engaging, and am excited at the opportunity to work with you. 我的課程內容與教學風格
I prepare classes according to the language and fluency level of the person I am teaching. From the very first class, I strive to understand the unique interests of each student so that I can tailor the best experience for them to improve their language abilities. I help students to develop their language skills through conversational exercises, pronunciation, listening, and writing.我的教材
