Hello! 🤗 I’m Fatima, a dedicated English conversation tutor with a degree in Foreign Language and Business from Arizona State University. My academic journey also includes immersive studies in Madrid, where I refined my Spanish language skills and explored Art. Passionate about language learning and cultural exchange, I specialize in helping adult learners enhance their conversational fluency in a relaxed and engaging environment. As I was studying in Madrid, I learned very quickly that when you are learning a language, it's important to start speaking and practicing as soon as you can. This experience taught me the importance of immersion and active participation in language learning. I aim to create lessons that are both interesting and encouraging, providing you with an atmosphere where you feel relaxed and confident to practice speaking. Therefore, my lessons will be centered around engaging discussions that help you build confidence and fluency. Fatima is a wonderful teacher, very patient and approachable. In her class, I always get a huge number of opportunities to practice expressing myself. She is very easygoing, and we can talk about topics that are closer to real life, like going to the hospital for blood sugar tests, having blood drawn, or even fainting 😂—which makes it fun. Even when I mix up similar pronunciations (pavement/payment/permanent/pregnant), she can always guess the correct word, correct my pronunciation, and type it into the chatbox for me.

A wonderful teacher! Before the first class, she asked me about the kind of course structure I wanted. Conversations with her flow really smoothly—we can effortlessly switch between different topics. She understands me even when I speak hesitantly or stumble over my words 😂. Before the class ended, she also checked in about the plan for our next session. Her speaking speed is a bit challenging for me to fully understand at times, but I actually think that’s a good thing—it pushes me to improve faster. Whenever I have trouble understanding something, she patiently explains it and always notes down key issues in the chat. She even goes the extra mile after class to help organize the vocabulary and expressions we talked about, which I really appreciate 🥹. Highly, highly recommended!
