I help English learners *see* and *feel* the language through photography, art, and music—tools I’ve used for years as a writer and visual artist. Whether dissecting a photo’s story or strumming my ukulele to teach rhythm in speech, I make lessons memorable. My students gain confidence by learning in creative, low-pressure ways. Based in Toronto, I share my home studio with a beagle who occasionally photobombs lessons!我的教學經歷
My interest in people’s backgrounds translates into compassion and an interest in my student’s backgrounds. When I meet a student for the first time, I assess their level of English and then tailor lessons to a slightly higher level to engage the most learning. I have taught online English lessons for 5 years. I also taught a photography class for 7 years.我的課程內容與教學風格
I am clear, concise, friendly, and patient. When I correct a student’s mistakes, I do not make them feel pressure or stress during the lesson. I will clarify and repeat back what they said, but in a correct manner so they can learn. I also add humor to the mix. A shared laugh is an icebreaker and helps students relax and learn.
I incorporate photographs and music in my lessons. Visual art is a universal language and students can learn everything from vocabulary to grammar by talking about photographs. Music helps the brain to remember vocabulary and sentence structure. With my library of online lessons to glean from, I tailor each lesson to a student’s needs.我的教材
