Hi! I’m Harumi, a language and music teacher who believes learning should be as natural as listening to a song. My multicultural background (Japan, Brazil, USA) helps students grasp languages through culture, not just textbooks. Let’s make mistakes and progress together!我的教學經歷
I've been teaching more than 20 years now.
As a language teacher, I started teaching Japanese in Brazil in 2014.
But I also taught music, English and other materials for kids in Japan, so teaching was always my passion.
I started teaching online in 2019, and now I teach every single day.
I love to see the students' progress so every level is welcome in my lesson.
Recently I started to learn Chinese and French online, too, in order to, of course, improve my language skills but also to understand my students' difficulties.
I've been discovering a lot of things by learning languages as a student, and that's helping me to set my mind and to reflect to and to improve my own lesson. 我的課程內容與教學風格
I have materials to practice building Japanese frases in your head and start speaking right away.
I'm also good at explaining grammar.
If you're a total beginner, don't worry, I'll explain everything in English or other languages, but I also want you to challenge to listen pure Japanese and try to understand the context.
For intermediate and advanced students, I use articles and stories to strengthen their proficiencies.
I love talking about culture or history, too.
I can always customize your lessons depending on your needs, or I can measure you level instantly.

Harumi-sensei was quick to pick up on my frustration and problem areas. She saw the struggle and took a slight detour on our lessons to redirect my approach and stop me from getting lost in my own head.
She's very attentive and caring...Highly recommend her!

I'm currently struggling with the lesson (you think you understood, but lose it when you are tested on it).
Haruhi is understanding my struggles and leading me to simplify my thinking, to avoid getting stuck in small elements.

What a superb trial! Harumi is obviously a very skilled teacher. She was able to support me in developing a conversation and also selected appropriate learning resources which helped introduce a range of grammatical concepts which she helped me break apart. My Japanese is still basic but she used her English and Japanese appropriately to help build up new concepts. It was a really enjoyable lesson.
