I have many hobbies and interests, including visiting museums, traveling overseas, learning and speaking languages, reading and discussing literature, yoga and meditation.我的教學經歷
I am a TESOL and FLE certified teacher with a Master's Degree in French. I have nearly 20 years of formal teaching experience, both overseas in Japan, as well as in the United States, at the middle school, high school and university level. I have a passion for sharing my experience and love of languages. I began informally teaching and tutoring as a graduate student. I eventually went to Japan to teach English, and realized that I had a passion for teaching languages. I have taught ever since. I especially love teaching writing and literature.我的課程內容與教學風格
I try to customize my lessons to my student's interests and needs, so an initial or trial session is useful for establishing this. Conversation classes will consist of a variety of topics to best build vocabulary, ranging from media to hobbies. There are no prerequisites if a student is a complete beginner. For beginner's courses, I usually use a text if the student agrees. The pace will depend on the student's grasp of material, if we need more time on a difficult concept, we can go slower.我的教材

Instructional SpecialistI was in charge of placement of new students, scheduling, lesson planning, teaching all levels of ESL including GRE, test prep, speech, mentoring new teachers, testing and other chores as needed.

Private language tutor and tour guideI am a freelance tutor and tour guide. I give private lessons in French, English or ESL and give historical walking tours in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Head TeacherI was the lead teacher for the English department. I interviewed new students, planned lessons, trained new teachers, taught all lessons from beginner's to upper advanced and business English classes, and other office requirements.

Adjunct Faculty for ESL DepartmentI prepare lessons for reading, writing and listening classes for international seminarians at the school. I do the book selection, testing, placement, and evaluation of the students. I also prepare individual sessions to work on the students particular needs, including but not limited to pronunciation, conversation, grammar and essay editing

I really enjoy learning French with Stephanie! She's incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She's great at explaining grammar points and making pronunciation corrections in a way that's easy to follow, and she often includes extra insights and personal perspectives that enrich the lessons. Stephanie also has a great sense of humor, which makes our sessions enjoyable; the hour always seems to fly by. I'm currently reviewing materials after taking a break from studying, and Stephanie is very supportive as I ease back into the language. Her knowledge and encouraging style make a big difference—I always look forward to our lessons!
